Veterans Organizations Holding Open House at
The Fort Harrison Veterans Center
The Fort Harrison Veterans Center announced today (April 1, 2007)
that they are holding an Open House (April 15, 2007) at their
newly remodeled building, located at 9450 East 59th Street Indianapolis,
IN 46216. The Open House will start at 1:00 pm, with a Color Guard and
ceremonies following. Sammy L. Davis, who received the Congressional
Medal of Honor for his bravery in 1968, while serving in the Army in
Vietnam, will be on hand and will address the crowd. This building
houses the VVA #295, Order of the Purple Heart, the Navy Club Ship #35,
the Marine Corps League Detachment #89, Rolling Thunder Indiana Chapter
#1, the American Legion Post #128, Vets for Vets, and other veterans
organizations.
These groups have participated in the renovation of the building. Veterans
from all branches of the Military have representatives in almost all of the
organizations housed in the building. For further information, please contact

SPECIAL PRELUDE TO THE OPEN HOUSE, APRIL 15TH
Veterans Health Care Conference at For Harrison Veterans Center, hosted
by Congressman Dan Burton. 10:30 am to 12 noon. We have invited
Secretary Jim Nicholson ( we are awaiting his response) to participate, and
will have several official from the Veterans Administration and Hospitals
to discuss issues important to all of us. Address any questions to

The Kentucky All Veterans Reunion for 2007 has been scheduled.
We have received an update which includes the dates of the event, as
well as a general schedule. Please feel free to contact us for information
regarding the event.
We have received another request from one of our members. James Carmichael emailed
us with the following request: "I work with Stan Smith, who is now in his mid 40's.
Stan has had a POW/MIA bracelet for Bruce Wayne Staehli since Stan was a kid.
Stan asked me for my help in trying to contact Sgt. Staehli's family, as he would like to
send them the bracelet. If you know of any current address, it would be very much
appreciated. " Thank you.
Please note that we have received a request from the son of one of our
deceased members. Travis Guenther would like to make contact with
anyone who served with, or knew his father, Donnie Guenther. Travis
wants to learn more about his father, and the unit/area he served with
in Vietnam. Family is to be treasured, so please, contact Travis via
